Appraisal of Visible Damage


Damage Assessment: Prepare an accurate appraisal of loss related damage that is visible and verifiable at time of inspection.

Repair / Replace Time Judgment: Accurate repair / replace time allowances will be established in hours on all items repaired or replaced.

Parts Replacement: Replacement of parts will be listed when parts repairs are not economical, parts cannot be properly repaired or if repairs will adversely affect vehicle safety.

LKQ, Reconditioned and Aftermarket Parts: In accordance with Client Specific Guidelines, appraiser will source and utilize LKQ, reconditioned and quality replacement parts when available, cost effective and when replacement with these parts will not affect the safety of the vehicle. The name and telephone number of parts suppliers contacted will be documented on the appraisal.

Sublet Items: In accordance with Client Specific Guidelines, the appraiser will utilize outside specialty shops for glass, trim, vinyl repair, etc. The name and telephone number of the sublet repair shop will be listed on the appraisal.

Betterment/Depreciation: In accordance with Client Specific Guidelines, betterment/depreciation will be recommended when applicable. Appearance Allowance In accordance with Client Specific Guidelines, application of appearance allowance will be recommended when applicable.

Tow & Storage Charges: Tow & Storage related charges will be documented on the appraisal and accompanied with a copy of the tow/storage bill. Agreed Price (repairable vehicles only) Obtain and document agreed price with the repair facility of owner’s choice unless instructed otherwise.

Authorization to Repair/Disassemble: Under no circumstance will the appraiser authorize repair or disassembly of the vehicle. The vehicle owner must authorize repairs.
